The Seventh-day Adventist Church operates 7 804 educational institutions (as of May 2010) throughout the world. These include 5 899 primary schools, 1 748 high schools, 47 worker training institutions, and 110 tertiary institutions. These tertiary institutions provide qualifications on the undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate levels.
In the Southern Africa Union territory, the Seventh-day Adventist church operates one Private Higher Education Institution, 7 high schools, and 23 primary schools. These are located in South Africa, Swaziland, and Lesotho.
While the primary and high schools in the SAU territory follow the curriculum laid down by their respective government departments, our administrators and educators are guided by the Seventh-day Adventist Philosophy of Education in their curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and practice. Helderberg College, accredited by the Council on Higher Education and registered by the Department of Higher Education and Training, is proud to be accredited by the Adventist Accrediting Association. This assures that the institution operates according to the policies and procedures laid down by the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists and can truly be called Your Christian Varsity of Excellence.
All the institutions operated by the SAU continue to strive to be centers of excellence. They are and will continue to remain the only schools that seek to prepare your children for service in this world and the greater joy and wider service in the world to come. Why not join us on our Journey to Excellence?
